Don't most people build walls last ?
This is one big stack of oak. Please note that Tarr is providing scale. This may be his most useful attribute. Each board is 8 inches wide by 9 feet long by 1 inch thick. And each board cost about $3.
On the Monday after Thanksgiving, I have plans to meet Eric the talkative carpenter to measure, cut and nail these suckers up. Board by board. I wish it were possible to see what it would look like in advance, but I can't. So I hope that nailing these horizontally looks ok.
We have windows and framing; we have a floor and roof. With walls in place, it will be possible to lock the door and warm the inside. What a luxury.
